Hearing aid - Replacement of tubes In connection with cleaning of your hearing aid, you may have a type where there is a tube that needs to be replaced. The tube should be like this, clear and flexible. If it turns yellow and hard, it will affect the sound, and this is why the tube should be replaced. It varies how often you should do this. Remove the tube from the device, and off the plug. You can decide – when you have taken your new tube – to cut the length based on the old piece. Then put it on the clean plug which is fastened to the hearing aid. Finally, remember to check that it is the right plug for the right device. Like this. Then it is important that you try the device to see if the length is correct. If the tube is too long, then the device will hang and flutter. If it is too short, you risk that it will pull the plug, and the plug can squeal. You can also have another kind of plug. A soft plug. Then the tube will look a bit different. Remove the old tube from the device and plug. The new tube looks like this. This is where you put the short end in into the sound channel. And it needs to go all the way in. Like this. In the same way, clip the length based on the old piece, so that it fits the hearing aid. The tubes can be ordered from the same place as you usually get your batteries. If it is for a hard plug, then it is what is called a plastic tube. If it is for a soft plug, then it is called Tubelock standard. And we will help you to check off the right place. We have made some brochures which you will receive when you receive your hearing aid, and which goes with the solution you are using. Take good care of your devices.
